FAQ

What is your return policy?

Ex Libris Designs is a print-on-demand e-commerce shop. This means that most of our merchandise is not printed until your order is placed. For this reason, returns are not accepted except in the case of defective merchandise. If you receive a defective product, please contact us within seven days so that we can make it right.

Defective means either the product construction or printing is faulty.

Please note: Buyer's remorse is not an exception to our return policy.

Customer service and satisfaction are very important to us. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

Did you know: Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. One in every five garments reaches a landfill without being worn even once. By choosing print-on-demand, you choose apparel that's created only as the order is placed, creating less fabric waste than conventional manufacturing. (Source

Do you ship internationally?

Sure do! If you are a non-US customer, please email us at megan@exlibrisdesigns.co to arrange for an international order. We are happy to ship internationally but we require a manual order input to calculate VAT and other applicable taxes properly. We love our customers around the world, from Ireland to Norway to England to Canada, and more. We look forward to hearing from you!

How should I care for my items?

Printed apparel (direct-to-garment)

Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn't use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items.

DTG-printed apparel can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don't iron the print.

Embroidered apparel

Embroidered apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. You can use a small amount of chlorine bleach, but non-chlorine is the safer option.

If you notice any color residue in water, rinse the garment in lukewarm water and then in cold several times, but try not to rub any stained embroidery. Embroidered clothing can also be dry-cleaned.

After washing, don't leave the clothing to soak or lie in a pile while wet. Don't wring out the embroidered items, but if you want to tumble-dry them, use a cool air setting.

If the garment needs ironing, do it inside-out, preferably between two pieces of cloth. You shouldn't wet embroidery before ironing or use a steam iron.

Mugs

Our White Glossy Mugs and White Ceramic Mugs with Color Inside are microwave and dishwasher safe, but the print and coating will last longer if you hand-wash them.

Matte Black and Glossy Black Magic Mugs, however, should only be hand-washed, and you can't put them in a microwave. Note that they're also prone to scratches, so be extra careful.

The same goes for our Enamel Mugs that should only be hand-washed. Also, you can't heat liquids or food directly in the Enamel Mugs—it can damage their coating.

Can I customize one of your designs?

Many of our designs can be tweaked without too much difficulty; some of them, not so much. That said, we LOVE it when customers reach out with customization requests and would be happy to look into any ideas you have. Send us an email and let's see what we can do together! Depending on the customization request, a service fee may apply.

Can I suggest an idea for a new design?

You certainly can! Keep in mind: when quoting text, Ex Libris Designs only draws from sources that are in the public domain. We would love to hear what you'd like to see featured in the shop.
